Boyne Valley Trails

Boyne Valley Trails are a Drogheda based voluntary group supported by Boyne Valley Walking, the LOVEDROGHEDA Business Improvement District, and Failte Ireland.

We want to share the beauty, heritage and culture of Ireland's ancient Boyne Valley, through a series of bespoke walks, trails and adventures.

Boyne Valley Trails will be hosting a fabulous selection of walks each month in Drogheda and the Boyne Valley.

We have a very limited number of tickets for these great walking experiences. All walks will be conducted in full accordance with current Covid-19 restrictions in place for counties Louth and Meath.

A walk along the river Boyne in Drogheda exploring the ancient mythology of Ireland’s most eminent river valley. Expert guide Anthony Murphy of Mythical Ireland will take you back in time to a hoary and misty age of the past when deities battled with mortal humans in supernatural encounters. Hear about how many Irish myths which are known around the world are closely connected with the Boyne and the Drogheda area. Walking will be at a leisurely pace, suitable for families.

Assemble on the footpath at the old Ushers factory across from the eastern end of Donor’s Green, Boyne Road, at 1.15 pm; walk begins at 1.30 pm sharp. Limited parking is available on the Boyne Road, North Strand, and Greenhills areas. The walk will cover a distance of about 2.5km and will conclude on the Ramparts Walk around 3.30 pm.

Hi my name is Martina of Boyne Nordic Walks.

I'm a certified Nordic Walking Fitness Instructor.

I'll will be giving half hour taster sessions on Nordic Walking. All ages are welcome to see what this walking with poles is all about!

My walks are a combination of fitness walks and mindful gentler walks. They suit all fitness levels and all ages.

Nordic Walking is a form of physical activity where the use of a pair of specially designed Nordic Walking poles are added to regular natural walking.

We have a variety of different locations - long sandy beaches, ancient sites (e.g. Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth), rambles along the river Boyne and our walk at Oldbridge through the ever changing landscape of the Boyne Valley.
