More than a walk on the beach! Learn the basics of Nordic Walking with or without nordic poles on a guided walk perfect for beginners.
Welcome to the Boyne Valley Trails September Festival 2026.
Join Nordic Walking guide Martina as she teaches us the basics of Nordic walking and how the technique and use of Nordic poles combines to turn your average walk into a full “workout in a walk”, suitable for all levels. We will venture along the headland of Clogherhead, with its panoramic views of Ireland’s East Coast from the Mourne and Cooley mountains to Lambay Island. Reaching the shore we will walk along the sandy b each to Termonfeckin, where we will break for a lunch from our rucksascks before heading back.
Things to note:Â You may complete this walk with or without Nordic poles, which will be provided. This walking event cover a distance of 18km at a moderate pace with some inclines. Suitable for beginners. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and light layers. Photos and video footage may be captured during this walking tour/event. No dogs allowed at this event.
Please bring water and snacks as we will stop for a lunch break at the halfway point.
