Drogheda Triathlon are excited to welcome you back to the Boyne Swim in association with Aura Leisure for 2023! Online registration is now open!
Our swim has grown in popularity every year and the Boyne Swim is now a highly anticipated annual event for both open water swimmers and triathletes alike, competing for the beautiful perpetual trophies for overall Senior & Minor Male and Female swimmer which were commissioned by Drogheda Port Company and designed by local sculptor Ronan Halpin. We also have prize categories for wetsuit & skins swimmers.
The Boyne Swim course is 2.7km in distance starting in Mell Drogheda and finishing at The Boyne Fishermen Boathouse on the Marsh Road. The swim will take you through Drogheda Port, passing under six bridges (The Bridge of Peace, Dominicks Bridge, Haymarket Bridge, St. Marys Bridge, Hugh de Lacy Bridge and finally the Viaduct Bridge), and finishing South East of the Viaduct Bridge. The distances are marked on the image below and will be marked by buoys on the day of the Swim.
Swimmers are encouraged to wear wetsuits but those who are brave enough often take part in togs of all shapes and sizes…
