Sacred Currents: A Journey on the Boyne-Trails and Tides weekend
Introducing a brand new experience for Boyne Valle Trails, in collaboration with Mythical Ireland and Boyne Voyage. Step onto the waters of one of Ireland’s most sacred rivers and experience the Boyne as it was meant to be encountered — flowing, alive, and rich with story.
Join David Buckley of Boyne Voyage and Anthony Murphy of Mythical Ireland for a unique and immersive event as part of the Trails and Tide weekend this June Bank Holiday weekend.
As you kayak along the tranquil waters of the River Boyne at Oldbridge, you will be guided safely by David, an experienced and fully insured kayaking instructor who will ensure everyone is comfortable on the water, whether beginner or experienced paddler.
Along the journey, Anthony will bring the landscape to life — revealing the deep history, archaeology, myths and legends that make the Boyne Valley one of the most remarkable and storied places in the world. From ancient monuments to tales of gods, goddesses and sacred knowledge, this is a journey through both landscape and legend.
No prior kayaking experience is necessary — just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to immerse yourself in the sacred currents of the Boyne.
Date: Saturday 30th May
Time: 12 noon
Meeting Point: Car park opposite the entrance to Townley Hall
Please bring: Light layers, comfy clothing, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and a sense of adventure.
