It’s officially summer and so we are delighted to say that guide Community Historian Brendan Matthews is back with his popular “Walk n talk” series!
The First summer “Walk n Talk History Tour of Drogheda” beginning at Drogheda Train Station will discuss the 180 years since the first train arrived in Drogheda from the capital and Brendan will tell the tale of the initial stages of the railway coming to Drogheda in 1844. The tour will then move down the steps adjacent to the magnificent Railway Viaduct and onto the Marsh Road and passing the former St. James`s Dock Yard & Ship Street. The tour will finish in the area of Scotch Hall & the South Quay.
